Awesome Apples!

Hello!!

We had a great week in Kindergarten!!  We were so very busy, had our first day in library, and had our first fire drill!! This week our theme was apples (and will be next week as well).  We learned about different kinds of apples, read apple stories, and learned a little bit about Johnny Appleseed.  We spent a lot of time this week practicing our fine motor skills as well.

We practiced our numbers and then made these fun apples!!

In art, we made cross collages celebrating all the blessings Jesus has given us.  (Not tied in with the theme, but still really fun!)

We had a great time taste testing different kinds of apples.  Then we graphed, tallied, and analyzed the data!!

I don't know why this is upside down but this was a great activity for practicing glue skills from Caitlin Clabby.

We worked on our fine motor skills bobbing for apples with tweezers, then practiced some number writing with the apple we nabbed.

We worked on responding to literature (like the story, "Up, Up, Up!  It's Apple Picking Time") in our apple journals.

We also learned how to use our poetry binders this week and work at the poetry center.  Look for our poetry binders to come home on Friday!!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!!  :) Mrs. Rogers
