Fun on the Farm!

We had a great time learning about farms this week and a lot of fun Friday at the Eagle's Nest Walk-a-Thon!!  Here's a peak at our week :)

We read this story and it inspired a lot of learning!!
We made mud (just like Mrs. Wishy Washy's muddy animals!!) and recorded our observations.

Graphing our likes and dislikes.  (This was from First Grade Blue Skies and free!!!)
We created these story retelling props to retell the story.   (This came from makinglearningfun.com)

We continued working on our Eric Carle projects in art.  We traced farm animals onto our painted paper and will be creating scenes for them next week.

Introducing and practicing syllables (getting ready for farm centers!!)

Practicing sight words.  This will also be a centers next week!

We explored with our five senses for the first time using an ear of corn.

Practicing more complex patterns (AAB, ABB, ABC with farm animals)

We will be continuing farms for another two weeks, with one week focusing on cows.  Ms. K and I are very excited for the rest of this unit.  Just a reminder, on 10/11 my newsletter will only be posted as a Google Doc on the blog :)

Newsletter 9/30

Teachers- Many of the activities on here will be up in my TPT store this week.  I will have a Farm: Science, Math, and Literacy Pack and a Farm Centers Pack.  Check me out on TPT!
